BRF DONATES 1,200 RAPID TESTS FOR COVID-19 TO BURITI ALEGRE
Tests will assist the municipality in identifying and controlling cases
BRF, one of the largest food companies in the world, donated 1,200 rapid tests for Covid-19 to the city of Buriti Alegre (GO) this week. The diagnostic kits delivered to the City Hall will assist in the control and better identification of the disease among the residents of the city. In recent months, the company donated more than 1.5 tons of food to the local Santa Casa de Misericórdia to help combat the effects of the pandemic.
The action is part of the BRL 50 million announced by BRF in early April in donations in food, medical supplies and support for research and social development funds, to contribute to efforts to combat the effects of the pandemic. The initiative reaches hospitals, social assistance organizations and health professionals in the states and municipalities in which the company operates.
In all, in hospitals alone, including field hospitals, donations benefit more than 15,000 people/day, through about 2.5 million meals. As a global company, the Company extends this initiative to countries where it has production units, such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
