Campos Novos received a donation from BRF, one of the largest food companies in the world, to help fight Covid-19. The company delivered 20 tests to the Fire Department Association, which has headquarters in the municipality.
The action is part of the BRL 50 million announced by BRF in early April in donations in food, medical supplies and support for research and social development funds, to contribute to efforts to combat the effects of the pandemic. The initiative reaches hospitals, social assistance organizations and health professionals in the states and municipalities in which the company operates.
In all, in hospitals alone, including field hospitals, donations benefit more than 15,000 people/day, through about 2.5 million meals. As a global company, the Company extends this initiative to countries where it has production units, such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
BRF has 34 industrial complexes in Brazil in 10 states, in addition to 5 other factories outside the country. Through almost 14,000 drivers and 45 distribution centers, it ensures that food reaches its more than 250,000 clients and millions of consumers.
