The municipalities of Buriti Alegre and Itumbiara in Goiás receive food from BRF, one of the largest food companies in the world, to assist in the fight against Coronavirus. The company, with a production unit in Buriti Alegre, will supply food to the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of the city and to the Modesto de Carvalho Municipal Hospital in Itumbiara. In total, BRF is donating about 3 tons of food to the two institutions.

The action is part of the BRL 50 million announced by BRF last week in donations in food, medical supplies and support for research and social development funds, to contribute to efforts to combat the effects of the pandemic. The initiative will include hospitals, social assistance organizations and health professionals in the states and municipalities in which the company operates.

In all, for hospitals alone, including field hospitals, donations should favor more than 15,000 people/day, through about 2.5 million meals over the next three months. As a global company, the Company will extend this initiative to countries where it has production units such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
