CITY HALL OF VITÓRIA DE SANTO ANTÃO RECEIVES DONATION FROM BRF

Company donates food, rapid tests and PPE to combat the effects of Coronavirus

Vitória de Santo Antão (PE) receives donations from BRF, one of the largest food companies in the world, to help fight the Coronavirus. The company has supplied more than 42,000 kilograms of food to the City of Vitória de Santo Antão, which will be allocated to about 10,000 families. Through the Health Department, the municipality also received 1,200 rapid tests, 1,400 PFF2 masks, 17,500 surgical masks, 7,700 facial protectors, 3,000 fabric masks and 150 goggles. 

BRF also donated 1,200 rapid tests, 1,400 PFF2 masks, 17,500 surgical masks, 7,700 face shields and 150 goggles to Hospital João Murilo de Oliveira, totaling around 59,000 pieces of PPE between donations to the city and to the hospital. 

The action is part of the BRL 50 million announced in early April by BRF in donations in food, medical supplies and support for research and social development funds, to contribute to efforts to combat the effects of the pandemic. The initiative reaches hospitals, social assistance organizations and health professionals in the states and municipalities in which the company operates. 

In all, in hospitals alone, including field hospitals, donations benefit more than 15,000 people/day, through about 2.5 million meals. As a global company, the Company extends this initiative to countries where it has production units, such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
